Several members of the Schola attended workshops
with Dom Lelièvre, Choirmaster of Solesmes, in London |
Near the beginning of the academic year, we usually have a day's training. Over the years we have been led by the late Dr Mary Berry CBE, the renowned Gregorian Chant expert, Philip Duffy, former Director of Music at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, and the late Nick Gale, the then Director of Music at St George's Cathedral Southwark.

Members of the Schola are also able to attend, for free, a three-day Gregorian Chant course organised by
Gregorian Chant Network, of which the OUGCS is a founder member. This takes place in the Easter Vacation, and has been led by by Colin Mawby, the well-known composer and former Director of Music at Westminster Cathedral, and by Christopher Hodkinson, a Director of the Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge, with Fr Guy Nichols of the Birmingham Oratory.
